Spirit Halloween is switching gears and helping make things a little less scary!
For the month of October, Spirit Halloween is bringing the fun and excitement of Halloween to the sick kids at the Children’s Hospital with its Spirit of Children program. By visiting one of the three stores in Manitoba, and using a 10% savings coupon, the Spirit stores will then match the 10% savings with a donation to the Child Life Department at the Children’s Hospital. Along with that, Spirit Halloween donates costumes and decorations for a spectacular Halloween party for the kids in hospital.
You can also make online or in store donations; consumers that make a donation of $2 or more will receive a reflective Halloween safety bracelet for kids to wear while trick-or-treating. You can collect your Spirit of Children coupon at the Children`s Hospital Foundation office located at CE501-840 Sherbrook Street (Yellow Deer Zone, Level 5) Winnipeg, Manitoba, or print off the coupon at: http://www.spirithalloween.com/Handlers/ChildrenCouponPDF.ashx?id=26a183a2-ad5e-42d3-8c70-ee228b70b51a
“With such a fun holiday, it’s wonderful that Spirit Halloween works to bring that fun to the Children’s Hospital.” Says Tania Gauthier, Community Development Coordinator at Children’s Hospital Foundation, “By contributing to our Child Life department, the funds raised go a long way towards allowing the kids treated here to forget about their illness and just be a kid.”
When Manitoba joined the Spirit of Children Campaign in 2010, they raised $780 and in their second year managed to far surpass it by raising over $6000. This year, with the community’s help, we’d like to do even better You can shop for costumes and décor at the Winnipeg stores (located at 1845 Pembina or 1596 Ness Ave) or in the new Brandon location (930-18th Street), all while supporting the sick kids at the Children’s Hospital.
